Kevin Ahern, PhD is an assistant professor of religious studies at Manhattan College. He received his doctorate in Theological Ethics from Boston College in 2013. He dissertation focused on “Structures of Grace: Catholic NGOs and the Church’s Mission in a Globalized World.” Kevin has taught courses on the nature and experience of religion, Catholic social teaching, Catholic social ethics, and exploring Catholicism at Boston College, the Boston College School of Theology and Ministry, and Blessed John XXIII National Seminary.
From 2003 to 2007, Kevin served as the President of the International Movement of Catholic Students (IMCS-Pax Romana), an international network of students in over eighty countries.
He has edited two books with Orbis Books, The Radical Bible, a collection of inspirational quotes from scripture and social justice leaders and Visions of Hope: Emerging Theologians and the Future of the Church, a collection of essays by young theologians.
He is a board member of several national and international networks, including as a Vice-President of the ICMICA-Pax Romana, the Catholic Common Ground Initiative and America Press. When not teaching, writing, or going to international meetings, Kevin enjoys hiking, the beach, and spending time with his wife.
